Since completing 1958’s ‘King Creole’, Elvis Presley fulfilled their contract with Blue Note Records and where under no obligation to release another album. four years ago, Elvis Presley briefly lived up to their terrific name, with an insanely addictive hit single called “As Long As I Have You”. It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of Elvis Presley energies, virtually a rebirth. Exciting stuff.
As Long As I Have You (1:51) Not one of my favorites, but for a lot of people this is one of their best songs. Hard Headed Women - I used to hate this song, but now it’s one of my favorites. Trouble - This happy song is an ode to optimism and an anthem. I love the melodic melody of Dixieland Rock and to this day it makes me feel good. Don’t Ask Me Why - A strong beat. Lover Doll - For me, this is the best of the album. So much energy, so exciting a sound.Elvis Presley must have run out of lyrics on the next track Young Dreams.
