Lead single “Pure” and “Better With Time (featuring Bilal)” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. I am not a real Jazz: Contemporary Jazz music type of person, but i have to admit ‘Pure’ really is amazing. For older fans Pure will put a massive smile accross your face. This is what good Jazz: Contemporary Jazz should be.
When I listen to Better With Time (featuring Bilal) in my car when traffic ain’t going so good. 2:01 AM - To me, this is the best song on the Pure. I love the melodic melody of Stone Groove (featuring Joe Sample) and to this day it makes me feel good. Appreciate (featuring Debi Nova) one of the best in my collection.
